Taking exit 40 along Interstate 15 in southern Utah will find one of the most beautiful areas in the United States - Zion’s National Park. Coming through central Utah in the summer or early fall? Don’t miss the world renowned Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City Generally running from mid June through late October, the festival includes almost daily performances of plays written by Shakespeare and other well known playwrights. Hungry? Traveling along Interstate 15 in central Utah? Be sure to stop by the Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) in Beaver for cheese of all types and sizes. Pick up a snack for the road, a gift for a friend or just stop by for some samples. You can find the cheese factory at 330 West 300 South in Beaver just off of either exit in Beaver. Cove Fort is located just northeast of the junction of Interstate 15 and Interstate 70. Built by settlers in the 1860s, the fort is made of lava rock and boasts walls that are over 18 feet tall and 4 feet thick. The Fort is open daily from 8:00 am until sunset. Fremont Indian State park is located just off of exit 17 along Interstate 70. The park is a treasury of rock art and archeological sites dating back thousands of years. The park offers a museum as well as walking tours. Visitors may even want to try their hand and throwing the atlatl - the Fremont Indians hunting arrow. For information, call 435-527-4631.
